The organising committee of CIED12 Toledo is increasing its commitment to recognising works of high academic quality that are defended during the congress. For this reason, a total of five awards have been established:
1. VI CIED Young Researcher Award in Sport Economics and Sport Management 2022
Award aimed at young doctors. Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- The author applying for the Prize must be the author of a paper accepted in the conference programme and, in addition, be the one presenting and defending the paper as communication in one of the conference sessions. In papers with more than one author, a letter must be attached, signed by all the authors, stating that the candidate for the Prize is the primary author.
- The work submitted for the Prize must be unpublished (i.e. not published in part or whole in any scientific journal, proceedings of another conference, etc.) and not be in the editing queue of any journal or other scientific publication.
- The candidate must hold the title of Doctor, having obtained the distinction after 30 June 2018.
To be eligible for this award, candidates should send an e-mail to the following address congreso.cied12@uclm.es, with a deadline of 17 April 2022, expressly indicating their wish to participate in the Award and attaching a signed declaration stating that they fulfil the criteria specified in the above points and the title of the communication with which they are competing for Award.
The Jury of the Award will be made up of three members of the Scientific Committee or researchers of recognised prestige who do not present a conflict of interest with the candidates for the Award or with the rest of the co-authors of the research, if applicable.
The Jury's decision will be final and will be made public during CIED12 Toledo.
Participation in the Award implies full acceptance of the above requirements.
2. Award for the best communication for the best paper based on a bachelor's or master's thesis
Aimed at new graduates starting their career in sport management or sport economics. Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- The author applying for the Award must be listed as the author of a paper accepted in the conference programme and, in addition, be the one presenting and defending the communication as a paper in one of the sessions of the conference. In papers with more than one author, a letter must be attached, signed by all the authors, stating that the candidate for the Award is the main author.
- The communication must be a summary of a TFM or TFG that has been defended in the academic year 2019/2020 or 2020/2021. The applicant must be the author of the work.
- Researchers with a doctoral degree are not eligible to apply.
To be eligible for this award, candidates should send an e-mail to the following address congreso.cied12@uclm.es, with a deadline of 17 April 2022, expressly indicating their wish to participate in the Award, attaching the original thesis or dissertation and enclosing a signed declaration stating that they fulfil the criteria specified in the above points, as well as the title of the paper with which they are applying for the award.
The Jury of the Award will be made up of three members of the Scientific Committee or researchers of recognised prestige who do not present a conflict of interest with the candidates for the Award or with the rest of the co-authors of the research, if applicable.
The Jury's decision will be final and made public during CIED12 Toledo.

3. Best communication award in the thematic area of Sports Economics
All submissions that are not eligible for the other awards will be eligible for this award. As long as they fall within the thematic line of this category.
- A jury composed of the scientific committee will decide which paper the winner is based on the work submitted and the presentation made in person or online.
- The award will be given jointly to all the co-authors of the paper.
4. Best communication award in the thematic area of Sport Management
All submissions that are not eligible for the other awards will be eligible for this award. As long as they fall within the thematic line of this category.
- A jury composed of the scientific committee will decide which paper the winner is based on the work submitted and the presentation made in person or online.
- The award will be given jointly to all the co-authors of the paper.
5. Best paper award in the thematic area of Digital Transformation in Sport
Digi-Sporting Award. All submissions that are not eligible for the other awards will be eligible for this award. As long as they fall within the thematic line of this category.
- A jury composed of the scientific committee will decide which paper the winner is based on the work submitted and the presentation made in person or online.
- The award will be given jointly to all the co-authors of the paper.
Common aspects of all awards
- Each work can only compete for one award.
- Finally, each award will be endowed with 300 euros, sponsored by the Faculty of Sports Sciences of Toledo, in addition to the corresponding certificates. In the case of categories 3, 4 and 5, this amount will be shared among all the co-authors.
